The only reference we have is through the Manuscript of Father Martín Sarmiendo, who indicated that it comes from “Rodanilo, lugar del obispado de Astorga, en una heredad” It must be the Rodanillo, belonging to Bembibre municipality, since it is the only population that is documented in the bishopric of Astorga with this theonym.
