Location

Topographic context

In dispute: Ruanes (Cáceres), Rubiana or Rubiá (Barco de Valdeorras, Orense) and Castro Caldelas (Orense). The Muratori source places it "in vico Ruanes in Gallaecia", amended by Viu as Ruanes, near Trujillo, Cáceres. IRG and Colmenero, on the Muratori data, make it from Rubiana, in Valdeorras (OR) and Rivas, convincingly attribute it to "As Burgas", in the same Orense (Civitas Auriensis) which is considered the most probable location.

Place of conservation

Museo de los Caminos de Astorga. In 1955 the inscription was in that Museum, then in the cellars of the Episcopal Palace, where it was seen in 1990-91. Today lost.
