Description
The decoration of the private house where de Rossi spent the last years of his life is only described by his biographer Baumgarten. He describes the flat, located on the third floor, starting with the antechamber, which had blue walls and many inscriptions embedded in it. The visitor's room had the ceiling painted with reproductions of the catacombs of St Callistus and Domitilla.
Present State
The house was demolished with the major urban works in Piazza Venezia for the construction of the Vittoriano in the early twentieth century.
