It was found in the Dehesa de Santiago de Bencáliz, not far from the fence that closes the estate, probably around 1984. Epigraphic corpora tend to locate the place in term of Casas de Don Antonio due to its vicinity, however, the dehesa lies in the municipality of Cáceres.
The Roman Ad Sorores mansio has traditionally been located in this place, next to the Italica-Asturica Augusta road.
